Christoph Bauer

While still a student of political science and literature in the early 1990s, Christoph began his professional career as a writer and editor for the youth culture program LIVE AUS DEM SCHLACHTHOF (BR/ARD), which he also hosted from 1992-1996. As a director, he shot a number of foreign reports and documentaries for ARD during this time, which took him to Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Canada and the USA, among other places. This was followed by countless journalistic and documentary productions, mainly for public television. In order to pursue his passion for creative visual design, Christoph Bauer also began working as a director of music videos and commercials at the end of the 90s. His experience in this field still influences his work today, and impacts his standards for implementing his creative ideas – also when it comes to documentaries and journalistic reports.

After well over 100 directing jobs in a wide variety of TV, film and video productions, he finally switched to the production side and in 2006, together with Felix Blum, founded the film and television production company Propellerfilm. Together with the creative heads of Propellerfilm, he has developed and realized a variety of documentaries and TV formats in recent years, including DIE SHOW DES SCHEITERNS (ZDFkultur), BAUER ERMITTELT (ZDFneo), 100-METER BAYERN (BR), HISTORY NOW (Pro7), ROST & ROLL (History Channel) and many more.
